INSTRUCTIONS ON TRANSFORMATION: HOW THE COMMON IS MADE HOLY

INSTRUCTIONS:

Set a specific time and a quiet place to work through the guide.

Use this guide along with your Bible. Read through the passages. Remember you are in the Presence of God.

DON'T TAKE ANY SHORTCUTS! It is more meaningful to put forth the effort and have the privacy needed to examine yourself.

PURIFICATION PROCESS:

I. WORSHIP

A. We Worship God In Spirit & Truth
B. Suggested Bible Readings - Psalm 95-96; John 4:24; Isaiah 6:1-8

II. PRAISE HIM

A. Praise Means We Thank Him For His Blessings
B. Suggested Bible Readings - Psalm 9:11; 67:3; Hebrews 13:15
C. A Four-fold reason for praise 1 Peter 2:9

III. CONFESSION

A. Suggested Bible Readings
B. Proverbs 28:13; 1 John 1:8-9; Psalm 51:1-16
C. Three Sins We Must Confess:
▪ Private – sins against God alone (MUST BE CONFESSED ALONE)
▪ Personal – sins against others. There can be no peace until these sins are confessed to God

As God leads, you may have to confess to the person wronged.
You must make an effort to restore disturbed fellowship.
▪ Public – sins against the Church, the Body of Christ. Sins like Gossip, neglect of duty, wrong attitudes, etc. If these sins are not confessed, you cannot be filled with the Holy Spirit.

IV. PRAYER

But when you pray; go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you. Matt. 6:6

C. For Strength and Courage to walk away from sin
D. Ask God to fill you with the Holy Spirit
E. Surrender yourself, your will, ambition, desires, plans, hopes, time, treasure, and talents

V. THANK GOD

A. For Your Cleansing
B. For His Forgiveness
C. For The Holy Spirit
D. For REVIVAL
E. For VICTORY
F. For The Opportunities He will give you to share the Good News
